52 Riverside Drive is a pre-war, luxury cooperative nestled amongst some of the most coveted real estate in NYC. Built in 1925 and designed by Deutsch & Schneider in the neo-classical style, this landmarked residential building features an elaborate terra-cotta facade and ornate lobby. The building is served by two elevators and in 2018 they modernized their passanger elevator.

“The new interior, although classic in design has touches of modernity with the use of its back-lit soffit.”

Paying homage to the buildings architectural heritage, the new elevator interior features a classic stile and rail design. The elevator is composed of three full length wall panels. The field or "stile" is composed of custom stained mahonay wood veneer where as the the boarder or "rail" features hardwood moldings. The ceiling is undoubtedly the focal piece of the elevator design. It features a drop ceiling matching the rest of the elevator with a stile and rail design and funrished with the same matierals. More impressive is the back-lit grilled soffit. It features a custom routed pattern that is illuminated by LED strip lighting. The soffit is supported by a generally minimalist crown molding. Balancing the overall design and continuing with the classic aestheitc are bronze accents, which can be found all thorughout the elevator. The floor is furnished using a Black Absolute Granite tile.

The new interior, although classic in design has touches of modernity with the use of its back-lit soffit. The design compliments the overall character of the building and the prestige of the neighborhood. 52 Riverside Drive features a luxurious elevator that is the ultimate symbol of class, grandeur, and style.
