Nestled in Rego Park is Park City Estates, a luxury co-op complex spanning multiple acres and has five 16-story buildings. The community was constructed in 1960 and designed by Philip Birnbaum & Associates. In addition, park City Estates has ten passenger elevator cabs, all modernized in late 2018.

“In the world of elevator interiors, as in interior design, it is not always about what you see but how you feel.”

All ten elevator interiors were engineered in the raised-removable style with an upper and lower design. The upper panels are composed of five panels, two panels on the side walls and three on the back wall. The side walls are each furnished with Estatuario Stone by Neolith, a leading manufacturer of Sintered Stone. The back wall features a clear mirror in the center and the Estatuario Stone on its sides. The use of Sintered Stone provides a dual purpose - elegance and durability. It can easily withstand changes caused by time without losing its beauty or functionality. The lower portion of the elevator interior is composed of three full-length panels, each furnished with "Cambridge" architectural metal by Rimex Metals. The upper and lower panels are separated by a stainless steel chair rail with a stainless steel handrail on the back wall. In addition, the fronts, base, doors, reveals, and drop ceiling is also furnished with stainless steel. Lastly, we used Black Absolute Marble tiles by Stone Source for the floors to bring the design together.

“The beauty and elegance of the Estatuario Stone create a striking impression for any traveler. At the same time, the cool-toned and textured feel of the architectural metal adds a modern touch to the overall elevator design.”
