Plaza 400, located at 400 East 56th Street, was constructed in 1968 and designed by Architect Phillip Birnbaum and Associates. At the time, it was the tallest and most luxurious building in Manhattan's Sutton Place neighborhood. Rising 40 stories and over 600 residences, Plaza 400 utilizes seven passenger elevators. In 2019 we completed the modernization of all seven passenger elevators.

“Plaza 400's elevators are a design masterpiece celebrating the beauty of simplicity and natural elements.”

Plaza 400 features a luxurious elevator interior with full panel Statuario Venatino marble. The marble is veined with bold, defined lines that give it an element of uniqueness. As you look up, you'll notice that the drop ceiling is furnished with a Nickel Silver mirror finish by Rimex Metals. The same Nickel Silver is also used for the reveals, frieze, and base. The fronts are faced with a Stainless Steel #6 finish. Plaza 400's elevators are a design masterpiece celebrating the beauty of simplicity and natural elements. The full-length marble paneling allows the design to speak for itself with its beautiful veining and grey/white hues. Nickel silver accents provide a touch of luxury and modernity to the space. At the same time, careful attention to detail in every aspect of the renovation results in a timeless and contemporary look.
