2 Broadway
2 Broadway is a mid-century commercial building in the Financial District of Manhattan, New York City. This impressive structure was designed by renowned architect Emery Roth & Sons and, built in 1959, boasts a stunning glass façade. Currently, it serves as the headquarters for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), New York City's public transportation system. Recently, United Vertical Group worked alongside Nouveau Elevator Industries, the elevator contractor, to modernize the interiors of all 26 passenger elevators. With their sleek and modern design, the elevators at 2 Broadway add a touch of sophistication to the building's interiors. The elevators serve a functional purpose and enhance the building's overall aesthetic, providing a stylish, modern, and durable transportation solution for the high-traffic environment of a busy office building.
We manufactured and installed seven wall panels faced with Banker Wire's SPZ-52 architectural mesh in an Aluminum finish in all 26 elevators.
The elevators were engineered using the raised removable system to achieve this result. We manufactured and installed seven wall panels faced with Banker Wire's SPZ-52 architectural mesh in an Aluminum finish in all 26 elevators. The panels are wrapped in stainless steel binders, providing an extra layer of durability and visual appeal. The frieze surrounding the elevator also features the same mesh, creating a sense of cohesiveness throughout the elevator. In addition, the elevators' updated fronts, swing fronts, bases, and transoms are all faced with stainless steel in a brushed or #4 finish, providing a clean and polished look. All other elevator components are original and were not refurbished or replaced.
